TRACTOR PULL RULES:  Class I and Class II       ( Also known as Div. I and Div. II)

Antique Show Class 1 Pulling Rules

This class is designed for show tractors that meet the original visual and mechanical design and intent of the manufacturer.  Eligible Tractors: 1959 and older or production models that started in 1959.

 1.        APPEARANCE – Tractors must maintain original stock appearance. If a part cannot be found in the manufacturers parts book it cannot be used. All guards, shrouds, covers and shields shall be in place as from the factory and be made of original material. No homemade parts allowed unless near like factory as possible. Seat must be original or a manufactured seat made for a farm tractor placed with stock mountings. Side shields allowed only on tractors sold as standard equipment. Alternators and straight pipes allowed.

2.        WEIGHT CLASS: To be determined at each event.

3.        RIMS and WHEELS- Tractors must have OEM recommended diameter rims and OEM wheels. Tires must be on rim width not exceeding tire manufacturers recommended width. Steel wheel cut downs are allowed. Tires are not to be cut or modified from the original tread design. NO TOP CUT ALLOWED. No radial tires.

4.       SPEED LIMIT – 2.8 mph. Not allowed to shift torque or gear. A cone will be set at approximately 75’ with disqualification if the horn blows past that point during the pull.  

5.        WEIGHTS – Maximum of six weights allowed. Original manufacture weights of bolt on type to either the front or the back wheels and (2 max) original manufacturer front weights may be bolted to the frame per original intent. NO SUITCASE WEIGHTS, NO HOMEMADE WEIGHTS and NO WEIGHT BRACKETS. Exception: Weight brackets welded to wheelie bars are allowed but cannot be used.

6.        HITCHES – Must be as from factory – alterations of  ORIGINAL hitch parts allowed to meet minimum dimensional requirements. Maximum height 16” (stationary in all directions), minimum of 18” from center of axle to hitch point, and locked on tractors with fast hitch or 3-point hitch, etc. Clevis must be mounted horizontal to the ground and have a minimum 3” opening, minimum of 3/4” thick material around hole, and be bolted or pinned tightly with spacers to the draw bar. Measured height will be hook point of clevis.  Homemade hitches not allowed.

7.        ENGINE –Original stock block, naturally aspirated. FACTORY RPM. Replacement manufactured parts accepted for make and model of tractor, parts not in a parts book or replacement parts book for the specific tractor cannot be used. Distributors with electronic components that do not change the appearance may be used. A factory coil must be used, no performance substitutions allowed.

8.        Safety – The front wheels of the tractor are not allowed to exceed 16” off the ground during a pull. It will be at the discretion of the flagman to determine the safety of the front end height. A puller must stop immediately upon waving of the red flag or other means used to end the pull. The flag is used to stop the pull for other reasons than the end of a pull. Failure to stop when flagged will disqualify the participant from continuing to pull and/or placing within the class. Wheelie bars are optional in the Antique Show Class.

9.        Tractors are subject to inspection by the Pulling Track Officials at any time during the pull, this includes checking RPM and weight. Weight over allowance is a maximum of 1% over in the class pulling. Official’s decisions are final. No protests are allowed.

10.  Owner of any disputed issue concerning originality of the tractor has the burden of proof  which must be     documentation from the original manufacturer manuals and presented upon request.

NEW CLASS for 2007

DIV 2 STOCK CLASS
1. APPEARANCE - Tractors must maintain original appearance. Be of two-wheel drive type.
2. SPEED LIMIT - 3.0 mph. Not allowed to shift torque or gear. A cone will be set at approximately 75' with                 disqualification if the horn blows past that point during the pull.
3. TIRES -  rim can be one size over , NO CUT TIRES OF ANY KIND same tire chart as the other divs.  No radials
4. RPMS - must be factory settings.  We will use the NATPA chart
5. WEIGHTS - weights must be secured. Weights falling from tractor will result in disqualification.
6. HITCH - Maximum height 18" (stationary in all directions), minimum of 18" from center of axle to hitch point, and locked on tractors with fast hitch or 3-point hitch, etc. Clevis must have a minimum 3" opening, minimum of 3/4" thick material around hole, and be bolted or pinned tightly with spacers to the draw bar. Measured height and distance will be the hook point of clevis. Vertical mounted clevises are not allowed.
7. SAFETY - The flag is used to stop the pull for reasons other than the end of a pull. Failure to stop when flagged will disqualify the participant from continuing to pull and/or placing within the class. Wheelie bars are mandatory. Any puller determined to not operating the tractor in a safe manner will be disqualified.
ENGINE, FRAMES, TRANSMISSION, REAR END, AXLE
8. Tractors must have the stock engine, frames, transmission, rear end and axle housings or manufacturer's    replacement. Stock heads and their replacements are to remain unchanged in outside appearance. No (7) main blocks in Olivers;  no (12) port  heads ; no (99) heads. AC - WC/WD/WD45 can use D-17 engine; IH - H, 350; M , 450. JD - A/B/G can use power blocks. No M-M (800) heads or blocks
9. OTHER RESTRICTIONS
Oliver 88, Farmall M, Massey 44, MM-U, JD-G, Case-C/D, JD-A 1940 and up and like size tractors are not allowed in classes below 4501#. Massey 33, Oliver 77, JD-A 1939 and down and like size tractors are not allowed in classes below 4000#.
10. Tractors are subject to inspection by the Pulling Track Officials at any time during the pull, this includes checking hitch, RPM and weight.
11. Official's decisions are final. No protests are allowed.

Antique Class 2 Pulling Rules

This class is designed for tractors that meet the original visual and mechanical design and intent of the manufacturer.  Eligible Tractors: 1959 and older or production models that started in 1959.

 1.        APPEARANCE – Tractors must maintain original appearance. Be of two-wheel drive type.

2.        RIMS and WHEELS- Pressed steel allowed on all models. Tires are not to be cut or modified from the original tread design. TOP CUT ALLOWED, no cutting allowed on the lead edge of tread bar. No radial tires.

3.       SPEED LIMIT – 3.0 mph. Not allowed to shift torque or gear. A cone will be set at approximately 75’ with disqualification if the horn blows past that point during the pull.

4.        WEIGHTS – weights must be secured. Weights falling from tractor will result in disqualification.

5.        HITCHES –Maximum height 18” (stationary in all directions), minimum of 18” from center of axle to hitch point, and locked on tractors with fast hitch or 3-point hitch, etc. Clevis must have a minimum 3” opening, minimum of 3/4” thick material around hole, and be bolted or pinned tightly with spacers to the draw bar. Measured height and distance will be the hook point of clevis. Vertical mounted clevises are not allowed.

6.       ENGINE – Agriculture block from the original manufacturer and of the original number of cylinders, naturally aspirated.  10% over FACTORY RPM. Replacement manufactured parts accepted for make and model of the tractor, parts not in a parts book or replacement parts book for the specific tractor cannot be used. Distributors with electronic components that do not change the appearance may be used. A factory coil must be used, no performance substitutions allowed. Pullers are responsible for providing proof parts meet this rule.

7.       Safety –The flag is used to stop the pull for reasons other than the end of a pull. Failure to stop when flagged will disqualify the participant from continuing to pull and/or placing within the class. Wheelie bars are mandatory. Any puller determined to not operating the tractor in a safe manner will be disqualified.

Antique Class 3 Pulling Rules

This class is designed for tractors that are original in appearance with specified modifications allowed as defined in the rules. Eligible tractors: 1959 and older or production models that started in 1959.

 1.       Drivers must be 14 years of age and older. Those under 18 years of age must have written parental/guardian permission.

2.       Drivers must stay on the seat of the tractor at all times. Hands must be on the steering wheel, hand brakes, hand clutch, or throttle at all times during the pull.

3.       Any tractor or puller found to be unsafe or illegal may be disqualified or barred from hooking

4.       No ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES will be permitted.

5.       Any tractor part falling off, while hooked to the sled, will result in a DQ.

6.       SPEED: Any gear, speed limit is 3.5 MPH, to be checked by radar. One shift of TA is allowed. One beep after flag cone will result in a DQ. The marker will also be used as the mark to stop the tractor if the driver wishes to restart the pull.

7.       RPM: Determined by the NATPA RPM Chart. Any tractor not listed will use manufacturers data. A 10% margin of error will be permitted. All tractors to have positive throttle stops with a working governor in the stock location. The RPM will be determined by the type of tractor motor being used during the pull.

8.       WHEELIE BARS: Required.  Wheelie bars are not to be attached to the draw bar or hitch in any way. Minimum requirements for wheelie bars are: the pads height is 10” max above ground. The wheelie bar pads are to be extended 5” behind the radius of the tire. The pads are to be 5” square minimum in size. The wheelie bars must be mounted to allow a minimum of 20” measured from the outside of each pad. The wheelie bar system must be able to support the weight of the tractor in the heaviest class pulled. TEST METHOD: Jacking up the tractor by the pads while weighted for the heaviest class. Bars must not fail by breaking or bending when tires are off the ground.

9.       HITCHES: Maximum height 20” (stationary in all directions) and a minimum of 18” from center of axle to hitch point. No part of the hitch can extend rearward beyond the point of hook. No clevises.

10.  WEIGHTS: Any type allowed. Must not extend rearward beyond the rear tires and cannot be more than 11 feet from the center of the rear axle to the furthest point forward. (Stock wheelbase cannot be altered)

11.    TIRES: Any cut allowed. Maximum tire size 18.4 x 38; any rim size. No radial tires.      No steel wheels. Two wheel drive only. No duals.

12.   ENGINE: Must be an agriculture motor, no automotive engines. Must be naturally aspirated. Gas, diesel, or LP fuels only. No alcohol or nitrous oxide fuels may be used. Gas is allowed a maximum of  750 specific gravity. All tractors are subject to random fuel checks. Tractors manufactured to use diesel fuel only cannot be converted to gas or LP.

13.   CARBURETOR: Any agriculture type allowed. Must be the same number of barrels and throats and draft direction as originally manufactured on the tractor.

14.   ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: Enhanced systems are permitted. No rev limiters allowed.

15.   The Pulling Track Officials, Judges, or Promoters decision are final at all times during the pull.
